WMD is an international network built by women for women and men in management. The network links professionals from all areas of business, education, politics and culture. Its spirit is characterised by determination, personal engagement, give and take, and open exchange. EWMD welcomes both individual and corporate members, employed and self-employed.
EWMD was founded in 1984 with the vision of improving the quality of management with respect to women and men, children, age and the cultural diversity of Europe. Women and men as individuals, double career couples or families should have a balanced work and private life.
EWMD has nearly 900 members in more than 40 cities in Europe and some more in the United States, South Africa and Asia. There are active national chapters and a growing number of city networks. Members are connected in local and in online communities, through blogs, wikis and mailing lists, in addition to face-to-face meetings and events. A global board supports the international exchange between members and EWMD chapters in different countries.
The network highlight is the annual EWMD International Conference, which focuses on a broad spectrum of issues relating to new trends. Other international and cross-border events run throughout the year, complementing the activities organised by national chapters and regional groups.
