Tipo: Trophy
Nome: 59th Italian Grand Prix Trophy
The hearts were filled with grief that year, because of the recent passing of Enzo Ferrari.

The 59th edition of the Italian Grand Prix started with Ayrton Senna's Mclaren, followed by his teammate Alain Prost and the two ferraristi Gerhard Berger and Michele Alboreto.
The fate of the race seemed already sealed, but on the 35th lap Prost had to retire due to engine problems, while Senna seemed to had it in the bag.

But twists and turns had yet to end, when Senna's McLaren hit Schlesser while lapping him two laps before the end because of an incomprehension. That's when the Autodromo erupted in a roar for Ferrari's conquest of both first and second place, just a few weeks after the Drake's funeral. An epilogue worthy of the best tale.

The Trophy displayed at Museo Nicolis is the precious Constructors' Trophy and bears the name of the Ferrari F1 drivers that won that edition: “1° B.Berger, 2° M.Alboreto – Autodromo Naz. di Monza 11/9/1988”.

Its value is not just historical but also sentimental, a significant win for Ferrari and its founder.
