Villafranca di Verona, 4 September 2023 – On Sunday, 3 September, the Nicolis Museum was the protagonist at the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2023 in Monza, opening the famous Driver’s Parade, an event of international visibility that precedes the start of the Grand Prix.

Nicolis participated in the procession with one of his most characteristic cars, the 1950 Fiat 1100E Vistatal.

FIA Vice President Carmelo Sanz De Barros was on board the car driven by Thomas Nicolis. The event was followed by millions of enthusiasts all over the world who saw the FIA International Automobile Federation flag flying over the very rare Fiat 1100E Vistotal, a prestigious institution recognized by the UN which includes around 240 car clubs from 144 countries around the world, representing approximately 80 million motorists. The images of the Fiat on the track were also relaunched on the social channels of FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

The “Vistotal” traveled the Autodromo track with around twenty vintage cars carrying the competing F1 drivers, from Verstappen to Perez, Alonso, Hamilton, all the most influential and acclaimed champions of the moment. Nicolis’ car was followed by Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc and the public at the racetrack gave the parade a warm welcome and applause.

“We had the privilege of opening one of the most anticipated events in the world carrying the FIA flag,” states Silvia Nicolis, President of the Museum. “Representing with our Museum an Institution that is a symbol of world motoring and hosting the Vice President Carmelo Sanz De Barros on the car was a source of great pride and an indescribable emotion which also confirms the cultural value of historic cars.”

The passage took place aboard beautiful historic cars, selected by Corrado Lopresto to celebrate the history of motoring, and the event was created thanks to the collaboration between F1, ACI Italia, ACI Storico, ACI Milano and Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the fourth oldest permanent racetrack in the world.
