- 1997 marked the final season in Formula 1 for the histrionic Austrian driver, Gerhard Berger. Nevertheless, during the F1 World Championship that year he fought with the determination of a lion, despite pulling out of three Grands Prix (Canada, France and Great Britain) due to health reasons and the loss of his father. This did not prevent him from reaching the podium twice: a second place at the Brazilian Grand Prix topped by a victory at the German Grand Prix. This PERSONAL steering wheel in the Nicolis Museum collection is an enduring reminder of that eventful season.
