Jarno Trulli (Pescara, 13 July 1974) is a former racing driver. A native of Pescara, Jarno Trulli was named after a Finnish champion, Jarno Saarinen, a driver much-loved by his parents.


Trulli came in contact with motors world at 9 years old, when he started driving karts. He obtained several successes both in Italian and International categories.


In 1995 he made his debut in German Formula 3, racing for KMS team and collecting 2 victories in 12 races of the Championship. He finished in 4th place in drivers standing and 2nd at Macao Grand Prix. In 1996 he won the category title with 206 points.


Steering Wheels:

  • In 1997, twenty-three year old Trulli made his F1 debut, signing a contract with the Minardi team. But after his first 7 races, his driving caught the eye of four-time world champion Alain Prost and he was snatched up the French champion's own team: "Prost Grand Prix". At the helm of the JS45 he managed to claim his first 3 championship points, thanks to an excellent 4th place at the German Grand Prix.
