This Bianchi “Campione del Mondo” (World Champion) is a Mk I model with central lever derailleur.

With a Bianchi like this, Fausto Coppi won the 1953 World Championship in Lugano, boldly beating his opponents. Italy had no longer won the title since 1932 (with Binda).

Other info:
In 1893,  when Bianchi had already changed headquarters for space reasons, Edoardo was summoned by the Savoia family, to teach Queen Margherita the art of cyclism.  The lessons took place in the gardens of the Royal villa in Monza, and the Queen had a special Bianchi made by Edoardo himself at her disposal, it is said that it featured a crystal chain guard. Many other Italian and foreign noblewomen wanted to learn how to pedal (the duchess of Genova and Aosta, Queen of Napoli and the princess of Portugal). In 1895 King Umberto I°, decided to honor Bianchi with the title of “Supplier of the Royal Family” boasting the Savoia coat of arms that appears on Bianchi’s vehicles.
